The Scaffold Transom is the horizontal load-bearing component of kwikstage scaffold. A 50*50MM inverted ‘T’ section supports steel or Timber Scaffold Planks, and determines the size of the scaffold bay.

Transoms slot into the ‘V’ pressings to act as bracing for Scaffold Standards. Connecting neighbour standards secures them together at a fixed distance and supports working platforms. Scaffolders install them horizontally across the width of the bay at a 90 degree angle to Ledgers. Scaffold Transoms are available in lengths between 0.48M and 2.4M. They are capable of holding 3 to 10 platforms depending on the size.

Each Scaffold Transom complete testing at central point loads to ensure they meet load-bearing requirements.
